What happens during an osteopathic session?

We don’t treat a symptom or a complaint, but a person. That’s why, we take the time to know what there is behind the complaint and figure how we can be useful to re-establish a good balance.

First, we listen what is your complaint and expectation. Then, we ask you a few questions to assess your physical condition, in order to know more about your lifestyle and of course about your medical history. This consultation is really important because we can modulate our approach and our treatment.connect-20333_1920

Our hands listen to your body’s messages and we do a general and global assessment which leads us to the major restricted area. We call it the primary dysfunction of the moment. It is the corner stone of the patient unbalance responsible of his complaints. Finally, we investigate this area more precisely to find the structures we need to focus on.

To finish, we fix these dysfunctions by using gentle and precise osteopathic techniques such as cranial, musculoskeletal and visceral.

Osteopathy embraces the philosophy that the body has an innate, natural ability to self-regulate and to heal itself. Our final purpose is to help the patient find a new balance by removing restriction and encouraging his power of self-healing.

We also give some advices to strengthen the treatment and prevent future injuries.
